| Additional information | ‘Chorale Prelude on an English Hymn’ draws upon the rich tradition of the chorale prelude – a contrapuntal piece woven around a hymn tune. The nineteenth-century hymn tune used here sets the words ‘O let the heart beat high with bliss’, as translated from the Latin of fifteenth-century breviaries. The work was recorded by the Curve Ensemble in St Silas Church, Camden, London, and commercially released on the Bigo and Twigetti label in late March 2025. |
