Abstract

This paper contributes to new conceptions of human-system interface as lying within the symbiosis of the analogue and the digital. The analysis focuses on gesture and the body in sense-making within interaction. It investigates how aesthetic design works with this and facilitates it. The Tgarden model is used, a responsive play space for experimental performance augmented by computational media. The significance of this work is the analysis of emergent properties of human collaboration that are rooted outside the linguistic paradigm. This research was undertaken in collaboration with Georgia Tech, USA, and now with the Topological Media Lab, Concordia University, Canada.
