Abstract

Using data on material geochemistry, this paper suggests an alternative interpretation of the Vera badland's geochemical and geomorphological stability. These data and their interpretation reassesses the causes of the local erosion hazard, challenging the validity of the ‘top-down' surface erosion model normally adopted when modelling marl landscape erosion.
