Abstract

Ineffective transition into higher education leaves learners disorientated and disaffected. This results in failure to engage with learning processes and, ultimately, achieving goals. This panel discussion explores issues raised by an examination of transition processes adopted by a crosssection of UK institutions, with best practices identified and linked to models of the student lifecycle.
Participants will be invited to consider the outcomes for stakeholders (student, faculty, institution, employer) and the potential for collaboration.
