Abstract

This book chapter describes a cross-cultural project in which UK and Iran-based female researchers collaborated to explore the everyday lives of women as mothers in the city of Tehran (Iran). This project included a specific focus on caring, as well as examining health issues, employment, and family lives. The author explores her anthropological voice to question and reflect on her presentation of the relational aspects of how these Tehrani women were ‘caring for’ and ‘caring about’ others, in the context of a patriarchal political and social environment.
