Abstract

Different drivers have different preferences and needs. Unfortunately, what sounds like a very basic assumption can be hard to translate into cockpit design. This workshop studied the special needs and preferences of two specific customer groups: technology averse drivers as well as drivers over 70 years of age. How do non-digital natives assess developments in cockpit design such as increasing automation and the growing integration of assistance services? This session will look beyond technical questions and become sensitive for different perspectives discussing: Special requirements for different users: how do different user groups interact with their HMI? - Design trends and their suitability for different user segments - Data from various research projects with the above named user groups - Practical implications for your work.
