Performative paper presented in the panel, 'Critical Vocabularies', at the BAM conference, 'Now and then... Here and there...', Tate Britain, London. Panel convened by Iniva in collaboration with Black Artists and Modernism.

Selected and revised for the conference session, 'Speaking Out: Siting the voice in contemporary Asian art', convened by Dr Pamela Corey (SOAS University of London) and Dr Wenny Teo (Courtauld Institute of Art).
A revised version of the paper will be included in a special issue of the Oxford Art Journal on 'Voice as Form in Contemporary Asian Art', edited by Corey and Teo, to be published in 2020.
