Abstract | This thesis attends to the mother-artist developing a performance-based practice with her family in the home. This is a practice-as-research exploration which integrates areas of maternal ethics and the mother-artist, family and narrative enquiry, the home and sited practices. It consists of a written dissertation, three full (larger) scale installations set within the family home, Trace (2013), Reclaiming the Ritual (2014), 31 Days Old (2016), and a series of smaller works Bed Bound (2014) and Children’s Practice (2014-17), plus digital documentation. |
