Biography
Biography Tolga Girici (Senior Member, IEEE) received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical and
Electronics Engineering from Middle East
Technical University, Türkiye, in 2000, and his
Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from
the University of Maryland, College Park, MD,
USA, in 2007. He was an intern at Intelligent
Automation Inc., MD, USA, in 2005. Between
2006 and 2007, he was a student researcher at
College Park Fujitsu Laboratories, MD, USA.
From 2007 to 2024, he served as a professor in the Department of
Electrical and Electronic Engineering at TOBB University of Economics
and Technology, where he also chaired the department from 2016 to
2024.
He is currently on leave from TOBB University and is a lecturer at
Middlesex University, London, UK. Over his career, he has completed
several research projects funded by the government and industry. He
has published over 100 research articles in journals and conferences.
His research interests include next-generation wireless communications,
MIMO, aerial base stations, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, and
integrated sensing and communications.
