Biography
Biography Lecturer in Criminology and Policing at Middlesex
University has acquired extensive lecturing experience in a variety of
criminological subjects such as white collar and organised crime, media
representation of crime and crime control as well as criminological theories
and crime related to ethnicity, social class and human rights. With a Ph.D.
investigating Politics, Society and Organised Crime in Italy and a MSc in Media
and Communication at Brunel University (London) has obtained international
research practice in both quantitative and qualitative research design, data
collection and analysis. With a specific research focus on white collar and
organised crime, he is currently part of a research team investigating the
smuggling industry in the Mediterranean. The project, by interviewing Italian
and Greek practitioners and authorities’ representatives, aims to examine their
approaches, understanding, experiences and discourse in relation to the
smuggling industry in the Mediterranean.
Outputs from this project have been presented in the 23rd Annual
Conference of the European Society of Criminology in Florence (Italy),
September 2023 and the Common Session in Athens (Greece), November 2023.
