Biography
Biography Anastasios (Billy) obtained a BA in Graphic Design from Camberwell College of Arts and an MA in Communication Art & Design from the Royal College of Art before setting up design studio Brighten the Corners with partner Frank Philippin. Billy has worked with numerous clients in the corporate, cultural and publishing sectors, including Goethe-Institut, Accenture Ireland, Department for Education, Disney, Vitra Design Museum, Frieze Publishing, Steidl, German Post Office, and the artist Anish Kapoor. Billy's design work has been awarded internationally with a D&AD Yellow Pencil, an ADC Gold Cube, an ADC für Deutschland Gold Nail, and The Grand Prix at Tokyo Type Directors Club. His work has been exhibited at the Design Museum's ‘Designs of the Year’ in London, and he has given talks at the Royal College of Art, Typocircle, Design Museum London, ENED (National Conference for Design Students) in Coimbra, and TDC Day Joshibi University of Art and Design in Tokyo. He has twice been Jury Member at the D&AD Awards in London, as well as the Ermis Advertising Awards in Athens, and the ‘Best Book Design from All Over the World’ at the Stiftung Buchkunst (German Foundation for Book Design) in Leipzig. He has been Associate Lecturer at UAL: Chelsea College of Arts (BA Graphic Design Communication), London College of Communication (BA Design Management), Camberwell College of Arts (FdA Graphic Design), and Brunel University (Graphic Communication Module), and has also run workshops at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Camberwell College of Arts (BA Graphic Design) and Central Saint Martins (MA Culture, Criticism and Curation, MA Graphic Communication Design).
