Inventory: The Counsel of Spent [Book review]

The Counsel of Spent is a new book by Inventory, an artist
collective founded in 1995 by Paul Claydon, Adam Scrivener and the late Damian Abbott. Inventory’s name is drawn from an
incredibly evocative passage in Walter Benjamin’s Moscow Diary, in which Benjamin claims that ‘the inventory of the streets is inexhaustible’ upon enumerating a sensorial profusion of ‘heroic Christmas roses,’ ‘tarts in the shape of cornucopias spilling forth cracker bonbons’ and ‘sweet icicles on which the tongue takes its revenge against the bitter cold’.
