Title | The Middlesex University professional doctorate: a case study |
Authors | Doncaster, K. |
Abstract | The recently established Doctorate in Professional Studies (DProf) at Middlesex University is discussed in relation to two major characteristics of the programme: its generic, rather than subject specific framework and its focus on research and development, rather than on research alone. These features distinguish it from programmes with which it has certain things in common: The Work Based Learning Studies Masters programme from which it developed, the PhD and other professional doctorates. |
