Abstract | In this panel session the panelists will debate and discuss the following issues:How and in what ways new technologies allow representation of knowledge in new ways? Can technologies such as three-dimensional models of phenomena, simulation of real world environment or computer-based item stem that is technologically enhanced with sound, graphics, animation, and video help learners to visualize and better understand difficult and abstract concepts? Do we need to align our assessment efforts by establishing new national or international assessment frameworks in order to specify the strategies, procedures, and knowledge to be tested as students use technologies to solve significant, complex problems within subject matter domains? How performance assessments that require use of technology in project-based or simulation-based learning activities should be designed and implemented? |
