Abstract

The theatre of the mind is investigated in this presentation which focuses on the reading process of performances from reviews. The review has a conventional set-up and gives descriptions of choreographic features, stage design and the interpretational skills of the performers, which allow creating the performance from written texts. The notion of performance as represented in the review is constructed by considering the active work of reading dance on several levels.
