Abstract

This workshop will enable you to consider:
- Evidence for and implications of substance use in the over 65’s
- Issues and problems arising from older people’s unique needs and circumstances relation to substance abuse – service provision, management of care, training of care professionals and lack of coherent guidance
- Our online virtual learning programme - ‘Falling Down’ and how it addresses some of these issues
- What we have learned and how we can share this – with the aim of shifting culture and improving practice
- Recommendations for developing policy, practice and education in the field of ageing – with interactive discussion
