Authors | Cortese, D. |
Abstract | Article focusing on a codicological analysis of 12 Arabic manuscripts of the Majmū‘ al-tarbiya in the Library of the Institute of Ismaili Studies, London, (henceforth IIS). Textual and paratextual examination sheds new light on the reading practices and educational uses of this text among Ismaili Tayyibi and Bohra learned communities across the centuries. Questions regarding the practice of compiling anthologies in this specific religious-cultural setting are also addressed. |
