Abstract

The role played by the doctrine of the Qiyama in redefining - when compared with earlier speculations of the Fatimid period- the spiritual role of the imamare and its hierarchical position with respect to the prophethood, the Nizari attitudes to the adherence to the shari'a and the political authority of the Lords of Alamut as exclusive leaders of the Nizari community.
