An diesem Abend haben Jazzfreunde im Stadtgarten die Qual der Wahl - New York im Saal oder London im Studio 672!
Für ein Programm, das die Musik der Giganten John Coltrane und Joe Henderson in den Mittelpunkt stellt, hat der Saxophonist Johannes Ludwig einen besonderen Gast eingeladen, den britischen Pianisten Sam Leak.
Dieser gehört zum feinsten, was die Jazzszene auf der Insel derzeit zu bieten hat und begeisterte zuletzt mit der Veröffentlichung eines Duo-Albums mit dem New Yorker Pianisten Dan Tepfer.
Stefan Rey und Alex Parzhuber vervollständigen die Band zum Quartett, beide entstammen der Kölner Musikhochschule, einer Kaderschmiede für herausragende Bassisten und Schlagzeuger.
Gemeinsam nehmen sich die vier Musiker das Werk der Ikonen Coltrane und Henderson vor, picken weniger gespielte Perlen und besondere Meilensteine heraus und geben Vollgas - einhundert Prozent Jazz auf den Punkt gebracht.
