Abstract

This pathway aims to build a consistent perioperative multidisciplinary (MDT) and interdisciplinary team which is able to be prompt to emergency surgical needs of the elderly patients. Through this pathway the MDT consistency regards the clinical microsystem which needs training and a perioperative specialist who will manage the big perioperative database producing analysis improvement through run and control charts over time as well as cases benchmarking for certain surgical specialties in order to design pathways for the local needs.
