Biography
Biography Dr Kathy Wilson is Director of Professional Practice at Middlesex University, London. Following periods as programme
and pathway leader for Adult Nursing programmes. Kathy has spent much of her academic career in roles that have focused specifically on practice learning and assessment. Kathy is a member of the Faculty Leadership Team
and has overall responsibility for the Practice-based
Learning Unit for Nursing and Midwifery as well as Professional Programmes
Support Unit where the placement teams for nursing, midwifery, education and social
work sit. As chair of the Pan London Practice Learning Group (PLPLG) since 2014 and has overseen a large collaborative project resulting in the development of the second Pan London Practice Assessment Document for Nursing, the creation of a range of online resources to support the implementation of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment in Practice (SSSA) as well as the implementation an electronic PAD for nursing students.
