Biography
Biography Dr Lucas Taylor is a senior lecturer in law at the Middlesex University School of Law, having joined in 2021. He was previously a permanent tutor at the University of Law where he taught both Medical Law and Mental Health Law on the LL.M, and Tort Law on the GDL. While undertaking his PhD at Queen Mary University of London he was part of the Contract Law, Tort Law, Criminal Law, and Medical Negligence teams on the LL.B, and guest lectured in both LL.B Health Law and LL.M Medical Law on the topic of Alternative Reproductive Technology. Dr Taylor obtained his LL.B from the University of Leicester, his LL.M with a Human Rights specialism from the London School of Economics, his MA in Medical Ethics and Law from King's College London, and his PhD from Queen Mary University of London. The focus of Dr Taylor's research is a critical re-engagement with the practice of surrogacy as a site of embodied biological labour and its potential generation of both economic and non-economic value at the intersection of Marxist Social Reproduction and Bio-value theory.
Teaching Dr Taylor has experience teaching Contract Law, Tort Law, Criminal Law, and Medical Negligence at the LL.B level, as well as Medical Law and Mental Health Law at the LL.M level. Current LL.B teaching responsibilities
