Idi is a committed academic and clinician who joined the University in the autumn of 2022 as an Adult Nurse Lecturer Education Fellow. Having graduated from Middlesex as a registered nurse, with a wealth of experience working in the acute sector of the NHS, Idi returned to impart her knowledge and skills to the next generation of nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Idi firmly believes in a growth mindset and is passionate about creating knowledge development opportunities. This is reflected in her contribution to a project promoting academic achievement for undergraduate students performing at various levels.

In her own professional development, Idi has gained affiliation with the HE Academy as a fellow (FHEA) and is actively pursuing recognition as an Academic Professional. She has completed the in-house module leader workshop as a stepping stone to absorbing areas of responsibility.

Idi continues to support the NHS at a local level, in a lead capacity role offering clinical training and education to clinicians and students. Having completed a requisite programme of studies, Idi also functions as a Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA).

Teaches NIP 2803 - Developing Nursing Knowledge, which aims to build a foundational understanding of the nursing process and delivery of effective care across the adult life span, with knowledge of illness and diseases.

Idi currently holds responsibility as an academic assessor linking across community practice placements supporting students and clinical staff.

After completing training to support Fitness for Practice, Idi sits on the review panel of these cases, utilising her expert knowledge to make safe and compassionate decisions for those involved.
