Abstract

Ghislaine co-edited the substantial catalogue to include the exhibition works (from the Virtual Physical Bodies exhibition, Centre des Arts, Paris, Oct 2008-Jan 2009) as well as a series of briefed texts including writing by Ghislaine Boddington, Roy Ascott, Michael Takeo Magruder, Susan Broadhurst, Maurice Benayoun and Yacob Sharir. The focus of the texts is the virtual/physical body and public space.
The Virtual / Physical Bodies exhibition opened in the centre des arts of Enghien-les-Bains, Paris in October 2009.
body>data>space curated this exciting exhibition to explore the question of the virtual/physical body and public spaces, looking at how innovative and emerging technologies can change and modify a new generation body into our real and daily lives. body>data>space collective with collaborators; Michael Takeo Magruder and Ivor Diosi
With the Centre Des Arts, this collaboration proposed to think about various scripts where the body is filmed, imagined, pixellated, modelled and animated into real daily environments – into architecture, the city and this exhibition. Through installations and multimedia displays, this exhibition was a reflection about the body, within live presence, utopia and fantasy.
This accompanying exhibition catalogue gathered texts from Dominique Roland, Ghislaine Boddington, Yacov Sharir, Sue Broadhurst, Maurice Benayoun, Hellen Sky, John Knell, Stephan Koplowitz, Michael Takeo Magruder, Roy Ascott, Armando Menicacci and Emmanuel Cuisinier.
