Title | A topic model analysis approach to understand Twitter public discourse: Grenfell Tower Fire case study |
Authors | Barling, K. and Chamil, R. |
Abstract | The digital age has transformed the means by which political and social discourse can be distributed amongst networks of citizens. It has also afforded us a means to capture many of those conversations or what we might call transactions. We can begin to explore large datasets of these kind of transactions to look for patterns which might help us begin to chart the links between social media discourse, the discourse in the traditional legacy media and its impact on political discourse. This study presents the results of the first step of a multi-level analytical approach that connects computational analysis with qualitative actor-level analysis. |
