Biography

Biography

Vesna is a Senior Lecturer in Film Production (Documentary), visual artist and practitioner researcher. She works at the intersection between archaeology, art and film, and is interested in decolonial approaches to material culture and archival film. She champions process-led and collaborative filmmaking practices, and has been leading on a number of projects with community partners (AgeUK, Barnet African Caribbean Association, Barnet Mencap) aimed to expand the curriculum and help foster socially sensitive film production.  

Teaching

Vesna lectures across a range of modules on BA Film and BA Photography programmes, including SOF1203 Documentary and FLM3503 Film Professional. Her PhD supervisions include: 

'Strong Women Don't Have the Blues'- Autobiographical Documentary and the Strong Black Woman Trope.

Beyond the Single Screen: a study of multi-image filmmaking.

Encounter between filmmaker and mover.
