Abstract

This study investigates how organisations in India adopt and utilize Knowledge Management (KM) practices to enhance performance, foster innovation, and improve competitiveness across diverse sectors. Although researchers have explored various aspects of KM, the field lacks a cohesive understanding of its practical application within the Indian context. To address this gap, we conducted a comprehensive bibliometric analysis using data from the Scopus database and analysed it through R-Studio. We identified key thematic clusters that highlight the influence of ICT, leadership, organizational culture, and sector-specific dynamics on KM adoption. Based on our findings, we propose an integrated KM framework that promotes shared intellectual repositories to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational efficiency. We also offer sector-specific insights from education, healthcare, MSMEs, renewable energy, and tourism, providing practical strategies for implementation. Finally, we recommend future research directions that explore IT enabled KM solutions tailored to the specific needs and constraints of Indian organisations.
