Abstract

This article examines tensions between social and community driven obligations of landowners and the individualism of private ownership by reference to three specific areas: rights of access to the countryside and coast, limitations imposed by the Hunting Act 2004 on the exercise of landowners’ rights and empty dwelling management orders.
