Abstract

Winterbourne House and Garden, originally built in 1904, is one of the few surviving examples of an early twentieth century British suburban villa and garden executed in the Arts and Crafts style. Owned by the University of Birmingham, the site hosts exhibitions, mounts a programme of events and provides horticultural training and education, making it one of Birmingham's major cultural assets.
Phil Cleaver is an award-winning artist, graphic designer and author. Over fifty of his work, created from vintage books and found objects, will be displayed in Winterbourne's new art gallery and integrated within the house displays. This is his biggest exhibition yet.
