Abstract

This review essay brings together a collection of recently published research studies concerned with different aspects of statutory childcare provision in the UK. All four studies are the result of research commissioned by the Department of Health, and are evidence of the ongoing, and renewed interest in both the quality of public care for ‘looked after’ young people, and the outcomes for this population.
