| Abstract | This study examines claims made across contemporary media channels that generative artificial intelligence can be used to develop educational materials, in an experiment to develop a new course for advertising, PR and branding professionals. A collaborative auto-ethnography is employed to explore the experiences of a university lecturer engaging with generative AI for the first-time using tools recommended by social media influencers. The outputs of the research include a three-week journal captured using Microsoft OneNote and a three-episode podcast series recorded using an AI-powered podcasting application, Descript. The lead researcher used Chat GPT, Agent GPT, Tome, SlidesAi.io, and Asana in the attempt to create a module narrative, lecture content, and workshop activities for adult learners (18 years and above). |
