Chapter titleGender, migration and social reproduction
AuthorsKofman, E. and Raghuram, P.
Abstract

The chapter applies the concept of social reproduction, which has been receiving increased attention in recent years, to gendered mgrations to offer new insights into the relationship between production and reproduction across genders, and how these are being reconfigured across different sites (states, markets, community and households) and sectors in an increasingly heterogeneous Global North and South and how in these processes new statuses are producing new forms of inequality and stratified rights..
