Abstract | The significance of developing and embedding e-learning approach and assessment has increasingly been recognised as an innovative and effective means to enhance students’ experiential and reflective learning in higher education. Experiential learning places a greater emphasis on student-centred, collaborative and inclusive approaches. Digital stories, a composite of photography, audio, video and presentation in a digital portfolio form, can serve as an effective tool through which student-led creative learning is facilitated and enhanced. Within this study digital stories are thus employed as a vehicle through which students’ roles can be repositioned in their knowledge construction and development. It is expected that this repositioning makes it possible to identify students in higher education as crucial social actors in critical knowledge development and communicative learning interaction. Furthermore, constructing and evaluating students’ experiences in developing digital stories are closely related to incorporating their feelings and emotions, thereby eliciting further thoughts and reflections. |
