Geopolitics and the Location of Cultural Memories

This paper considers media art works produced in transnationsl contexts. Exploring the works of Singaporean artist Ming Wong, Singapore based designer Jesvin Yeo, and the American photographer Shannon Castleman, this paper considers the importance of geopolitics, location, and cultural memories in these works. This paper is part of the "Open Space/New Media and Documentary Forms" panel consisting of curators and artists who participated in the Open Space exhibition that was part of the International Communications Association's conference in Singapore in June 2010.
