Abstract | Smoke and mirrors? Time to meet the challenge of equality in the Fire and Rescue Service is a joint project between AFSA, Middlesex University and the Fire Service Research and Training Trust. Initial scoping work and literature review was conducted in 2014/15 but the majority of the interviews and drafting of the report were undertaken in 2016-17. The project has also been supported by five individual FRS services, each contributing £500 toward the costs. We wish to acknowledge that contribution; as well as their clear commitment to exploring what remains an unacceptably homogenised workforce profile across FRSs. [...] |
