| Description | Twenty artists from the Gallery’s Collections were been selected by Director Stephen Snoddy, one to represent each year of the first 20 years of The New Art Gallery. They each told individual stories about particular moments in the history of the Gallery. Besides Billingham, the other participating artists were Sonia Delaunay, Richard Forster, Lucian Freud, Cameron Galt, Andrew Gifford, Mahtab Hussain, Laura Lancaster, Christopher Le Brun, Hannah Maybank, Ming de Nasty, Laura Oldfield Ford, Olly & Suzi, Frank Sidney Smith, Clare Smart, Soheila Sokhanvari, Estelle Thompson, Andrew Tift, Gavin Turk, Jane and Louise Wilson and Nilupa Yasmin. |
