Abstract

In both the lay and professional media, a general disapproval is expressed towards artificial reproductive technologies when this is used to assist an older woman to bear a child. This paper reviews the lack of evidence for these condemning arguments, and highlights the evidence which suggests this form of discrimination is unjustified on scientific grounds.
