Description | Web site documenting a project involving collaboration between artist Dr.Loraine Leeson and biophysical chemist Dr. Nithin Rai to support biodiversity in the River Thames. It showed how floating reed beds had been constructed along the Tamesis Dock barge, situated opposite Tate Britain on the site of the original Lambeth Marshes. The project promoted the 'greening' of the shored up banks of the river, while providing a sheltered habitat for river organisms and served as a pilot for how biodiversity conservation can be expanded along the inner city reaches of urban rivers. Images of the organisms were projected along the embankment during September 2015. The stand-alone website has subsequently been incorporated into the cSPACE website. |
