Abstract

Negli anni del dopoguerra Grace Lee Boggs contribuì alla teoria marxista all’interno di un ristretto gruppo di intellettuali e militanti politici dissenzienti dalla dottrina ufficiale dello stalinismo prima e del trotzkismo poi: la Johnson Forest Tendency (che in seguito acquisirà il nome di Correspondence). Dal nome dei suoi due fondatori, C.L.R. James (Johnson) e Raya Dunayeskaya (Forest), questa fazione interna al trotzkismo statunitense elaborò un’originale posizione teorica che condusse i fautori ad allontanarsi prima dalla vecchia sinistra e in seguito ad anticipare alcuni dei temi della Nuova Sinistra. Mentre è la figura di James che domina la storiografia su questo gruppo, in realtà la proposta politica era il risultato dell’intenso dibattito interno, al quale il contributo teorico-politico di entrambe le presenze femminili non è spesso messo in evidenza come meriterebbe.
