Abstract

Collecting data is a key step in the research cycle. When reading research, the methods section should give details on what type of data were collected and how they were obtained. The exact method of data collection will depend on whether the research is qualitative or quantitative and the methodology of the study. Common methods of qualitative and quantitative data collection are described below.
