Abstract

What is a population?: When reading research it is clear that 'population' has a slightly different meaning from its everyday use. In research, a population is a collection of individuals or objects that are of interest to researchers ( Polit & Beck 2017). Pregnant women, midwives, the places they work, and the equipment they use, are all examples of populations.
