Abstract | This paper investigated the problem of developing a conceptual model for defective gene diseases. The issues addressed were schema for defective gene database, ease of interoperability, ease of linking with other major databases, image based data integration and intelligent query. Emphasis was given on developing a small scale, laboratory based database with decentralized transaction capabilities. The proposed idea was unique at the time and the concepts established have made a significant contribution to research in this area. |
