Abstract

One of a collection of essays in German and English discussing post-feminism from the perspectives of performance, literature, and sociology. German publisher's description of the book:
Der interdisziplinäre und internationale Essayband diskutiert den umstrittenen Begriff des Postfeminismus aus performativer, literaturwissenschaftlicher und soziologischer Sicht. Die Kernfrage ist dabei, ob der Postfeminismus mit seiner Aufwertung der Weiblichkeit einen Rückfall in präfeministische Zeiten darstellt oder ob er als Radikalisierung des Feminismus zu verstehen ist. Bedeutet die Vorsilbe post das Ende des Feminismus oder einen neuen, radikalen Anfang? Eine Problematik, die sich keinesfalls auf einen einfachen Nenner bringen lässt, wie die unterschiedlichen Analysen und Ansätze zeigen. Mit Blick auf die Streitfrage ob bzw. in welcher Form Postfeminismus existiert, betrachten die Beiträge unterschiedliche gegenwärtige Erscheinungsformen der postfeministischen Kultur: Die Bandbreite reicht dabei von der Debatte um die Camp-Kultur über den girlism bis hin zum Backlash.
