Abstract | The chapter: This chapter in the ‘Work-based Learning Student Handbook’ concerns Work Based projects. WB projects are often unique in that they reflect specific learning opportunities in an individual learner’s career within a work setting which frames the organisational constraints of the project. Such projects capture learning that is highly context specific and which may make a significant contribution to a whole organisation, but the evidence base is often unconventional, drawing upon professional and practice guidelines and policies. Undertaking a WB project as part of an academic award provides another perspective based on research and academic rigour, thus amalgamating two approaches. |
