Abstract | This presentation examines the relationship between Paulo Freire’s notion of pedagogic ‘praxis’ – the reflective dialogic of self-consciousness – and those who have prevailed in the so-called ‘new age traveller’ movement that reached its peak during the 1980s and 1990s in the UK: in particular scrutinizing the contemporary struggle for access to the prehistoric stone-circle of Stonehenge, a place of religious and social importance. |
