Description	1. Introduction (If) 2. Tintinnabulation 3. Dance 4. Exordium (When) A set of pieces for toy piano, with optional vocal elements and second performer in the last piece. The first piece was written in 2025 and premiered in a version for tenor recorder and toy piano in Lizzie Knatt’s and my set at Oxfordshire’s Supernormal festival in August 2025. In September 2025 Exordium—opening out—followed in its vocal version ‘When’, alongside the vocal version of the Introduction, ‘If’, both setting words by Irish poet Derek Shiel (1939-2017). In early 2026 these were followed by the graphic score Dance (based on another poem by Derek Shiel), Tintinnabulation (a re-working of an earlier piece for piano and percussion originally commissioned for Stephen Gutman and Richard Benjafield); the instrumental version of the Introduction; and the two performer version of Exordium, requested by Kate Ryder for the premiere at the Stoke Newington Contemporary Music Festival. First performed by Kate Ryder (with Brian Inglis), The Old Church arts centre London N16 (Stoke Newington Contemporary Music Festival), 10 May 2026.
