Abstract | The BMP catalogue has been designed as an urban stormwater decision support tool to assist end-users according to their existing level of expertise in the use of BMPs for stormwater management. Thus, for those practitioners with a limited experience of using stormwater BMPs, it provides a comprehensive overview of the wide variety of system types, designs and modes of operation of structural BMPs, as well as providing background and information on non-structural stormwater BMP approaches. As an on-line facility, it also acts as an accessible reference point for urban drainage practitioners who require specialist information on the use of BMPs. For example, in the case of BMP designers (such as landscape architects) or those responsible for approving the inclusion of BMPs within new or existing developments (local authorities and regulators), the catalogue provides clear information on both BMP performance and operation and maintenance requirements. Comparisons of the costings associated with the different BMPs are provided within the catalogue through both a review of available data (accessed through each BMP type) and an interactive format (accessible through the “BMP costings tool” link. |
