Abstract | This paper describes how high quality human computer interaction research can be carried out with and for people with a visual impairment. It is based on over fifteen years of thorough exploration of suitable theoretical research methods and practical research at the Royal National Institute of the Blind and Middlesex University. The work received wide attention and resulted in the author being invited by the Department for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform to join the UK working group for EU e-Inclusion. |
