Abstract

This paper illustrates how caste influences socio-economic disparities in coastal Andhra Pradesh. It highlights levels of vulnerability and ‘potential resilience' of individuals to both large-scale disasters and to the everyday crises that continually disturb people's lives. Few earlier studies have provided such empirical evidence.
