First performances: Le Christianisme - Jeremy Huw Williams (baritone) and Nigel Foster (piano), St George’s Brandon Hill, Bristol, 17 October 1993 (English Poetry & Song Society concert); Everyone Sang - Roderick Williams (baritone) and David Wickham (piano), Wigmore Hall, London, 4 May 1996 (Songs from the Underground concert); Chen Kok Hoong & Laura O’Gorman, St Mary’s Church Hendon, London, 13 March 2014. The first performance as a cycle was given by Mark Oldfield (baritone) and Christopher Scobie (piano), Sutton House, 23 November 2014 (Stoke Newington Contemporary Music Festival). |
